WE MADE HOT AIR BALLOONS.
After reading the fictional tale of Professor William Waterman Sherman in The Twenty-One Balloons we decided to replicate his experience of flying around the world in a hot air balloon. We thought about buoyancy, about what made his balloon rise or sink, and about how the variability of the air effected his journey. We noticed that even in our small classroom the air was very different in different areas and that our balloons were surprisingly sensitive to these changes!
