“Dear Families,

We had a big snowstorm! Addis was snowed in on Wednesday because he couldn’t get out of his driveway. Then a bulldozer came and plowed their driveway so he could leave but he was already snowed in. There was a snow day on Tuesday so he was snowed in. Thome shoveled snow to make a snow fort. His mom and brother were on the other side but you couldn’t see them but they were there and it was Tuesday. Why they were at his house was because it was a snow day. His mom and brother went in which is why you couldn’t see them. Thome stayed outside for a little bit longer because he wanted to play more outside. Addy M forgot her snowpants, ha, ha, he, he! This happened when we were doing morning work! We were looking at how much snow there was in Machester! We measured, 11 inches by the 8/9s, 14 inches in the field and 8 inches under the pine trees. We decided there was less snow under the trees because some of the snow was stuck in the tree. We learned that the best place to measure is in the middle of a flat field. We went snowshoeing down by the pond on Wednesday and Thursday. We went on a snowshoe hike at Equinox. We got to eat sugar on snow there. Maxine came to school on Wednesday and sang with us for Saint Paddy’s day. We where at town meeting. Ireland sounds fun to Addy because she wants to stay there for a month because it sounds beautiful. Colby and Thome used ipads for animal writing this week. We started our dioramas. We did finger weaving and French knitting. It is very fun! But it takes a long time to get a long string. You will get longer string quicker with Finger weaving. It will take longer to get a longer string if you French knit. Brittany started finger weaving and Stacey started French knitting. We made the French knitting with Popsicle sticks and toilet paper tubes and string. Emma left early on Friday because she went skiing with her mom. She stayed in Brittany’s class while she waited for her mom. We had a Saint Patrick’s day party at Rebecca’s house on Friday at 5:00 and there was Ireland foods and sweets. People got goody bags at the end.

Love,
The 6/7/8s

Addy, Addis, Bella, Colby, Emma, Knox, Rebecca, Thome and Zooey”
